If there are any changes, you can modify and finally, click the button Proceed to Checkout on the right.
Step 8: You will then be redirected to a page where it asks if you are a new customer or an existing one. If you already have a GoDaddy account, login with the associated credentials. Else, create a new account.
Step 9: To create a new account, you will have to register yourself with GoDaddy first. Just enter your email id, username, password, and a PIN number (shouldn’t be in sequence). After this, click the option Create Account.
Step 10: When this is done, you will be redirected to the Billing Information page. Fill in all the required details.
Note: It is mandatory to remember the PIN you have because each time you contact the GoDaddy customer support, the representative asks PIN number for identification.
Step 11: After this, enter your pay pal or credit card details. By default, the checkbox called “Use as ExpressCheckout” will be selected, meaning that any purchase you make in the future will be automatically done with the credit card you have entered. If you uncheck, if you want to.
Step 12: After you have entered all the information correctly, click the button named continue. Step 2: The first option you will see is “Domains” and to the right of it, will be a button called Manage. Click on it.
Step 3: When Manage is clicked, a new screen opens, where it lists all the domain names that you have purchased. Each domain name will also have a set of columns, which are Expiry Date, Status of the domain, Auto-Renewal, Lock, Privacy, and Certified domain. Here is a brief explanation of what these features are:
i) Expiry Date: This option shows the date when the domain will expire. As the date of expiry gets closer, the date is displayed in red. So, make sure to renew it before that. However, if you miss it by any chance, GoDaddy also gives a set of options.
Note: A registrant or customer can renew any expired domain without any extra charge up to the 18thday. If he or she renews any expired domain between the 19th day and 42nd day, the registrant must pay an additional $80.00 fee for redemption. After the 42nd day, the domain name becomes unavailable for renewal.

- Day 1: GoDaddy makes the first of 3 billing attempts in order to renew your domain.

Every time you type a domain name into your browser, it is the job of the nameservers to provide the corresponding IP address of the domain name to the browser. For some reasons, if the DNS did not exist, one would have to remember or memorize a sequence of numbers to visit a website.
Here is what exactly happens when you visit a website:
- Let us say, you have typed a domain name called example.com into your browser.
- The browser will then use DNS to check the respective name servers for the domain (www.example.com).
- The consequent name servers are then retrieved, which are usually like this: yourhostdomain.com and ns2.yourhostdomain.com.
- The browser then utilizes the name servers to find its IP address.
- The browser obtains the response as “231.113.64.”
- The browser then sends a request for the IP address: 231.113.64 and then the web page is displayed.
Note: The entire process takes less than 1 second to finish. Hence, most people will not be aware of the name servers you actually use for the website.
How To Change The Name Servers On GoDaddy?
If you are buying a domain from a different registrar and not from the same web hosting, then you will have to set the name servers manually for the purchased domain. Say, for example; you have bought a domain name from GoDaddy and hosting from Hostgator, then after you receive the name servers, you have to follow a few steps to change the name servers on your GoDaddy account. This hardly takes a few minutes.
Note: The process for changing the name servers for a third party registrar is the same. Only a few steps or options might vary from one domain registrar to the other.
Step 1: Login to your GoDaddy account with the respective credentials.
Step 2: On the dashboard, click on the button Manage at the right of the option Domains.
Step 3: Now, all the domains you have purchased will be displayed. There will be a checkbox on the left side of every domain name. Check the box for the domain you want to set the name servers for.
Step 4: Click on the menu Nameservers > Set Nameservers.
Step 5: By default, there will be some other name servers. On the right, click on the option Edit Nameservers.
Step 6: Copy and paste the two nameservers that Hostgator sent to your email id. Click OK.
Step 7: Now, the name servers are set. But note that it will take from 24 to 48 hours for it to get updated.
